This morning Carla laid her third egg of the 2024 season at 2:01am. As a result of her nest is seen on a timestamped digital camera, I can inform you she laid the third egg 52.87 hours after Egg#2. (Egg#2 was 53.14 hours after Egg#1.)

Right here’s a video of the egg-laying second, sped as much as double-time, which occurs to make it apparent.

As of 6:29am Carla was not but incubating the eggs although she covers them to maintain them from freezing on this chilly day.

Incubation usually begins when the feminine has laid her next-to-last egg. Is Carla going to put 5 eggs? Or will she start incubation within the subsequent few hours. In any case, Carla is a brand new mom who’s studying as she goes.
