STOKES BIRDING BLOG: Prime Time for Hawk MIgration
Prime Time for Hawk MIgration
On the wing, hawks, monarchs, and me. It’s prime hawk migration time. I noticed 6,000 plus Broad-winged Hawks at Wachusett Mt. hawkwatch (tower on prime of a mountain). Along with all migrating raptors, they rely monarch butterflies. I’m on the Hawk Migration Affiliation of North America board, which maintains the superior web site, hawkcount.org, through which websites all throughout North America report their day by day raptor numbers. Go there to be taught all about it and discover a hawkwatch close to you.
